This piece was created in the setting of Roy's Motel, a remote iconic landmark in a town called Amboy in Southern California, on Route 66. The starkness of the piece reflects the town's isolation and the loneliness of the girl waiting.
I used acrylics for the artwork, as they give a wonderful flat look, the pale tones used give a subtlety and softness against the graphic lines of the building.
