20x30" the artwork is tray framed in white wood. 
 
The painting reflects the gentle contours and soft shades of Rio de Janeiro's mountainous terrain, capturing the essence of the city and the natural morning light at sunrise.
 
When creating a painting, first I look at colour.  Whispers of Rio was created using a nude palette, with gentle hues of blues and greens, creating a soft, hazy landscape as a backdrop for the featured hummingbird.
 
To bring this vision to life, I started by applying a delicate wash of acrylic dusky pink on the canvas, followed by meticulous spray painting to recreate Rio's mountain forms authentically.
 
The intricate branches were crafted using carefully cut stencils for the spray paint technique, adding a subtle luminosity with metallic hues.
 
In my artistic process, I prefer using acrylic for botanical elements to juxtapose the bird painted in lustrous oils. The bird gazes upwards, symbolising optimism and joy.
